Boxcar blog: mentionable things

So today I'm just typing down a few notable things to help you decide whether our products are well suited for you. Overall beard oils, balms, and soap have many benefits for you. You certainly will find on google and with other search engines the ben idiots of using such products as well as reading here in our past blogs. Not only do I use these products everyday, but many of our patrons and bearded family have never once viewed these products negatively. Something's you should look out for and look into, are if a product is actually all natural. Essential oils are natures way to fragrance our products and provide beneficial properties to your beard and body. If a product says fragrance or fragrance oil in it's ingredients it is not all natural and these can do more harm than good in the end. Do the research before you buy and ask questions! Questions about any of our products is recommended if not welcomed in our business. This too should be all beard care companies way of thinking.

Boxcar Elixir has been focusing on our fellow beardies and enchanted facial forest growers for sometime now, but what about the men that must be clean shaven? What about our Brothers in Arms? As a Veteran, I know the sadness that comes of not being able to grow such wonders like the beard. So... at Boxcar Elixir we are creating an aftershave product not because of the lack of beard, but as an honor to those who can not obtain one just yet. Hipsters:
The fad of hipster is dying out and so is the majority of beards. However, this means little to us and our boxcar beardies. Why is that? Let's look at what a hipster is and look at the hipster choice of beard care.

Urban Dictionary defines hipsters as “a subculture of men and women, typically in their 20s and 30s, that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics”. Hipsters prefer to ride a bike and shun public transport. They like to know what origin their coffee is from, and wants a shiny hard beard with a powerful scent of sandalwood and pencil shavings. They give mad love to everything that represents a vintage origin and rockabilly style. Tight skinny jeans, leather boots, and lumberjack flannel. Most hipsters pass the idea of being a hipster and think their life choice is original. Yes hipsters are dying out and true men with facial forests are coming out of the wood work. With a fad that wanted growth and a fake look in life, Boxcar a Elixir struggled. But because we want your hair and skin healthy and smell subtle and unique, we will stand strong in this Manscruff world.

Boxcar Elixir Blog...

I've talked about this once before, but thought I'd go deeper on this subject. Should you blow dry your beard? Honestly I recommend you don't, however the answer depends on how you blow dry your beard.

Heat is terrible for hair. The combination of high speed and hot air dries out your skin and your Manscruff. That facial forest will feel brittle; your skin will become dry and flakey, making dandruff or Beard-druff I like to call it.

But I did read something quite interesting...

There was a Korean study in 2011 that said blow drying your hair on the coolest setting, at a healthy distance, is actually better for your hair than letting it dry on it's own. I'm not saying you should do this, but I ain't saying to go for it either... Here's the argument.

When you air dry your Manscruff, the follicles swell with water. The longer this continues, more and more pressure is placed on the base of your hair. As a result, this weakens the hair and makes it prone to breakage.
--------------- On the other end of the scale, blow drying on the hot setting is also no bueno. Long amounts of heat damages the cuticle (the outermost protective layer of each hair) by trapping water inside the cortex (the core of each hair) and making the water boil. Boiling your beard hair like it's a potion for witches isn't something I'd treat my Facial Forest.

In conclusion, to dry your Manscruff after a shower is to start with a simple pat dry with the towel.
Don't rub! Let it air dry for about five (5) minutes. Then add a dime size amount of Boxcar Elixir beard oil to nourish and moisturize the skin underneath. Put the hair dryer at it's lowest setting and use a wood comb as you dry that grove of hair.
Add a dime size amount of beard balm to the outer parts of your beard to lock in the moisture with those all natural sealants. Continue to use the wood comb to shape your beard. Then boom! Your enchanted facial forest is clean, dry, and ready for the outside world.

Other uses: I've talked to ya'll about many benefits about using this product for your beard, but I haven't told you what other uses this product is great for. For starters, this product is an excellent aftershave. Though we strive to perfect a great beard, the natural properties of our oils provide perfect moisture to your face and other areas after shaving. Hair loss: So this blog is going to be pretty short. I haven't gotten asked this question, but I think it's a question people would ask. Hair loss is a common thing in a persons life. A normal person on average losses about 50-75 hairs from their body each day. as one hair rests or "falls out" a new one grows in it's place. You will have beard hair fall out, but when it becomes large amounts like 6+ you may need to stop using what you're applying. Also keep in mind that if you keep hitting snags in your combing routine, don't pull it through. Comb your beard in another direction, or run your fingers through before combing. You may need to get a better comb. Avoid Plastic! Plastics are the Plague. Snags cause hair loss and splits ends that also results in a deforestation of a facial forest.
