The Willett family has a history that has grown right alongside that of the Kentucky bourbon boom since the states beginning in 1792, when William Willett moved to Nelson County, Kentucky. Since then the family has kept the bourbon tradition alive with their round up of both sourced and Estate- made bourbon expressions. This Takumi Edition brings together the traditional blending skills of selecting rare whiskey barrels and unique flavor profiles, with the expertise of our Master Blender, John Rhea, resulting in this exceptional and unique limited release. The nose features a savory mix of light rye bread with sweet caramel richness and a hint of tangy fruit salad. On tasting, there is an initial wave of buttery rye bread with a full-bodied feel. Clase Azul Reposado is an ultra-premium reposado tequila made with Tequilana Weber Blue Agave that is slow cooked in traditional stone ovens for a minimum of 72 hours. Once the agave reaches a deep, rich flavor, it is fermented with proprietary yeast prior to distillation. Once the tequila is distilled, it is aged for 8 months in hand-selected oak barrels. Buffalo Chip Spirits™ was formed in Nov. 2019. They partnered with Rod “Woody” Woodruff, the owner of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip (the “Best Party Anywhere”). The Sturgis bike rally is the largest biker event in the world. It is held every August in the black hills of South Dakota. In 1981, the city of Sturgis tried to end the rally, by kicking out the “riff raff”. Woody built the Sturgis Buffalo Chip on a 600-acre pasture and saved the rally.
