Letās start with blanco; sometimes called āsilverā, this tequila is the youngest of the bunch, typically bottled right after distilling, blanco tequilas have a strong agave flavor and are perfect for mixing.
Next up is the reposado, which means rested. These tequilas are aged anywhere from a couple months to a couple years in oak barrels used to make whiskey, which gives it a light golden color. Complex and delicious, reposados are great for either mixing or sipping.
Last of the true tequilas, is aƱejo, which means old. These tequilas are aged from 1 to 3 years in small oak barrels. This gives the tequila a deep and robust flavor, along with its signature dark caramel color. The refined taste makes the aƱejo perfect for sipping.
The finale of our journey is mezcal. The ancient and traditional form of agave spirits; all tequilas are mezcal, but not all mezcals are tequila. With a distinctive smokey and rich flavor, mezcals are perfect for sipping, or adding unique flavors to your cocktails.
