🥃 What Is a Hot Toddy?

A hot toddy is a mixed drink made with whiskey, water, spices, honey, and lemon. The cozy cocktail originated in India (it comes from the Hindi word “taddy,” which is a drink made with fermented palm sap), but is most often associated with the United Kingdom.

Hot toddies are served in the chilly winter months, traditionally to relieve the symptoms of the cold and flu.

📌 What Is In a Hot Toddy?

These are the simple ingredients you’ll need to make this hot toddy recipe:

✅Boiling water: This single-serving hot toddy starts with 2 fluid ounces of boiling water.

✅ 🥃Whiskey or bourbon 

✅ 🍯Honey: Sweeten things up with a teaspoon of honey.

✅ 🧆Spices: Whole cloves, a cinnamon stick, and a pinch of nutmeg add warmth and flavor.

✅ 🍋Lemon: A slice of lemon is essential for a traditional hot toddy.

How Do You Make a Hot Toddy?
Simply pour the ingredients in a mug, let it stand to allow the flavors to meld, and garnish with nutmeg. That’s all there is to it!
