Best little wine shop around. Dedicated to the discovery and enjoyment of unique wines! You’ll find our wines to be unique and flavorful.

We specialize in wines from smaller vineyards, in various regions and that have been producing wine for generations. The belief once was that with great wine, comes a great price tag. While we carry high-end wines you’ll find many of our wines are aggressively priced. You can always find a wonderful selection, in every price range that is anything but ordinary.

What an interesting event!

On Thursday, June 18 at 6 P.M., The Gables will be hosting a virtual panel entitled “Queer Domesticity: The Relationships of Settlement House Workers.”

Settlement work thrived in the early days of the 20th century, with nearly 500 Settlements providing service nationally at the movement’s peak. The history of large movements such as these can often overlook the details of the dedicated individuals who led them. In honor of Pride Month, The Gables is hosting a virtual panel featuring several of the more famous Settlement Houses – Hull House, Henry Street Settlement, and The House of the Seven Gables – in a discussion regarding the women who dedicated their lives to their Settlement and the role their sometimes closeted relationships held in strengthening their work.

Speakers on this panel include Nadia Maragha, Education Manager at Jane Addams Hull-House Museum, Katie Vogel, Public Historian at Henry Street Settlement, Ashley Hopkins Benton, Senior Historian and Curator of Social History at New York State Museum, Dakota Russell, Executive Director of The House of the Seven Gables, and James Giessler, Executive Director/CEO of NAGLY.

Serious contemplations at our Reenactment of the 1976 Judgement of Paris tasting today, the 24th of May, exactly 50 years from the original event. As in the blind tasting in Paris five decades ago, the Stag’s Leap Cabernet was the winner as chosen by our illustrious judges here in Salem at Salem W**e Imports!
