My dad once asked me what I planned to do with my life.

I told him I wanted to make people happy.

He put down his coffee.

“That’s not a career.”

I said maybe I could build a place. Somewhere families would stop. Somewhere kids would remember going with their parents.

He looked out the window.

“Just promise me one thing.”

“What?”

“Whatever you do, make a name for yourself.”

Years later, I finally invited him to see what I’d built.

He stood in the parking lot.

Read the sign.

Then turned to me.

“We need to talk.”

AN OPEN LETTER FROM THE MAYOR 🍫

Dear Citizens and Everyone Else Who Can’t Keep Uranus Out of Their Mouths,

I’ve heard some folks have been bad-mouthing Uranus lately, and frankly, I’ve had enough.

Uranus deserves a little GOOD-mouthing.

If you’re gonna put your mouth on the subject, at least give us something we can enjoy.

I love Uranus. I love our citizens. And I love the Uranus Police Department, whose officers work hard to serve and protect Uranus. It takes a special kind of dedication to spend your whole shift watching our backside.

I love our small businesses, from Uranus Gas & L**e to the Uranus Sideshow Museum. Whether you’ve got a little gas or a whole lot of weird, there’s a place for you in Uranus.

But my favorite part of being Mayor is the personal interaction. Shaking hands. Taking pictures. Finding out what brought you here and how we can send you home satisfied.

I’ll pack your fudge however you like it, tight in a box or loose in a bag. Everybody has a preference, and this administration respects that.

I’ll even grab your nuts if you ask nicely.

We may have questionable slogans, but we still have manners.

So before you go bad-mouthing Uranus, come experience it yourself. Meet the people. Browse the shops. Get a little fudge in your mouth.

Then go tell everybody. We just want to pack your Fudge!
