Kinney Drugs is partnering with Donate Life to raise awareness for living donation - when a living person donates an organ or part of an organ to a person in need of a transplant. Living organ donation gives another option for some transplant candidates, reducing their time on the waiting list and leading to better long-term outcomes. Living kidney donation is possible because we can live a healthy life with one functioning kidney. Living liver donation is possible because the liver consists of two lobes, one of which can be donated to someone in need. Both lobes will regenerate to normal size and function generally within 6-12 weeks. Living tissue donation is used to promote healing and to treat burns and painful wounds. Living donors don’t have to be related to their recipients. On average, 1 in 4 living donors are not biologically related to the recipient.

These are leaders who inspire their fellow employee-owners and strengthen both the company and the communities we serve.

JOANIE BENEDETTO
This award could also be considered a lifetime achievement award for someone who has been a cornerstone of Kinney’s success and a true icon in her community! Joanie began her career as a Clerk at store #3 in Camden, NY in the fall of 1984, where she stayed until 1988 when she decided to stay home with her new baby girl. Two years later, Kinney was fortunate enough to get her back. Throughout her career, she served as Merchandise Manager, Dual Store Manager, and for the past 21 years, as Manager of Store #37 in Bridgeport, NY. She left an indelible mark on every position. Her leadership has been defined by grace, kindness, and a staunch commitment to her team and her customers. She has shown what it means to be a “Feel Good Friday” manager—not just on Fridays, but every single day. Her positivity and warmth make everyone around her feel valued and supported. Simply put, Joanie is a class act, and the impact she’s had on this company will be felt for years to come. Joanie retired February 14th and we thank her for her 41 years of dedication, inspiration, and excellence. Congratulations, Joanie!
