It’s American Craft Beer Week—and around here, that means taking a moment to celebrate the beer that started it all: M-43.

Named after the Michigan state highway that runs past our brewery, M-43 NEIPA was a bit of a gamble when we first canned it back in 2016. Juicy, hazy, and loaded with hops, it was unlike anything we’d brewed before. We weren’t sure how it would be received, but you told us, loud and clear.

What began as a brewpub release has become—and for years remained—the #1 selling hazy IPA in Michigan and the Midwest. It’s now available at thousands of retailers across the region (and beyond), and has grown into a full family of beers, from Tart Strawberry to Orange Creamsicle. Not bad for something that started as a bit of an experiment.

So this week, we raise a pint to M-43—and to all of you who made it what it is. Thanks for believing in the haze. Turns out, that haze is good.
