Described as "umakuchi," a combination between sweet, dry, and umami flavors. Refreshing while still layered and composed. So good. There are some obvious pairings like sushi and sashimi, but try this gorgeous sake with pizza or smoked salmon with cream cheese for an out of this world tasting experience.

With broad appeal and a memorable, sturdy flavor, this sake has the ability to complement even the most wine-unfriendly vegetables. This Junmai Ginjo is made with Yamada Nishiki rice, known as the pinnacle of quality for sake rice. It is named after the famous Chinese poet, Li Po, who was said to drink a bottle of sake and write one hundred poems. Notes of banana and ripe honeydew with a clean, crisp acidity that highlights its light-to-medium body. The lingering finish moves from juicy fruitiness to green, herbal notes making it a great food companion. Pairs well with many vegetables like asparagus, artichoke hearts, broccoli rabe, green salad, as well as a broad array of sushi and sashimi.

2020 LaOsa Trasto Prieto Picudo

The 2020 LaOsa Trasto Prieto Picudo is a grippy wine, with an expressive profile and presence. The nose is floral and fruity, while the palate presents firm tannins, dark fruits, and something with a little extra zing to really liven the mouth. We tasted this wine with a friend from León and he commented that the wine had transported him back to the region - it was the taste of home. A ripe Rosado of the local Leon grape varietal, Prieto Picudo, this is a rosado for fans of bright acidity, medium heft, and complexity on the close. Noelia de Paz, the Queen of Albarin, makes delicious reds from Prieto Picudo too, but this light pink drink is so much fun. Fragrant and lacy aromas of ripe strawberry and spice lead a palate comprising strawberry, watermelon and cherry. Super versatile and completely compelling, enjoy this rosado now as an aperitif or with charcuterie.

2020 La Osa Trasto Blanco 'Albarin'

Noelia de Paz sure loves her some indigenous grapes of Tierra de Leon. Old is new again in this sweetly floral nosed, sunshine-in-a-glass bottling of the used albarín grape. There are qualities of Chenin, Semillon, and even Riesling found in each sip, making the wine wholly unique on to itself, not unlike it’s up-and-coming winemaker. White wine enthusiasts, stock up for the summer!

2020 Echeverria "Es Cuiko" Chardonnay

First, a fun fact: "es cuiko" is slang for "it's posh," meaning this Chardonnay has seen some oak to provide a heftier body and a little more complexity than their other lines. Anyway, to the listing...
We can't think of a better wine for an outdoor BBQ to ring-in the Fourth of July. The 2020 Echeverria "Es Cuiko" Chardonnay is a natural, vegan wine out of Chile that's pale yellow and slightly cloudy in appearance due to its lack of processing. On the nose, there are strong aromas of banana, apple, and pear, blended with toasted brioche. In the mouth, it is full bodied and rich, with a creamy, refreshing, and fruity acidity. Vibrant, expressive, and very easy drinking, this wine is best enjoyed now. Like, right now...
