Hello everyone! We have some news we aren't very happy to report regarding EBT/SNAP at our Russell store location. According to the USDA, the government agency that runs the SNAP program, we were in violation for supposedly selling a roll of toilet paper on one occasion and a can of cat food on another which are not allowable items. These events are reported to have occurred in late October of 2025. We received a disqualification notice on the 28th of April for the violations dating back to late October of 2025!! We were asked if we could produce any proof that the claims are false, like any form of security video coverage, as most people know, security footage only lasts so long before it is recorded over with fresh video, it certainly isn't over 180 days, so we had no way of proving the situation didn't happen the way they claim it did. So.. unfortunately for all of us we have been disqualified from accepting SNAP/EBT at our store for a period of 6 months. I don't understand why they don't offer us a fine and allow us the opportunity to refresh our training but this isn't how this government agency works. We are very sorry for the lousy news but wanted to communicate with you before you come in to use your card with us and were told we can't accept it. We will reapply for the service once we serve our penalty
