The turnout at last night's meeting was incredible—it was truly heartwarming.

Helder and I chose to start anew in Royalston, making it our home, and we've dedicated countless hours and unwavering passion to reviving the store for the community.

We're especially grateful to the Board of Health for reconsidering the issue and giving us this chance to move forward. We await the results of their Wednesday vote.

There are still a couple more hurdles and hoops to jump through on this long road, but hearing everyone share how the store would positively impact their lives—creating new memories with grandchildren, strengthening community ties, and reviving those cherished trips from years past—has inspired us even more.

Please Join us Wednesday, July 30th at 7:00 PM at Royalston Town Hall for the Board of Health Hearing - your chance to help reinstate the to***co license and move us one big step closer to opening! Helder and I have poured our hearts into this because we know it will be more than just a store - it'll be the hub of our town. But without this license, we can't open, and that hurts us all in ways that go straight to our health and well-being. To be clear, we've never intended to advertise to***co - we'll keep it discreetly under the counter, and without overt promotion. We have no desire to create new to***co users in any way. Folks often pick up their essentials like milk, bread, and other items where they buy to***co, driving those vital incidental purchases. In a small rural town like ours, margins are already super tight, so without this, the store simply isn't viable - and our community loses its only hub for healthy living. Here's why this matters so much to Helder and me – and to all of us:
• Fighting Food Insecurity in Our Rural Home: As the ONLY spot for fresh produce and healthy foods, we'll be a shield against facing longer drives for basic everyday nutritional items. During transportation gaps and for our elderly and disabled, this could mean the difference between eating a healthy meal or not eating at all.
• Protecting Our Littlest Ones: We'll be the go-to for baby formula and essentials - no store means potential nutritional gaps. Especially for parents without reliable transportation or during inclement or unsafe weather.
• Quick Access to Health Basics: From OTC medicines for colds or pain, to first-aid supplies, we'll help prevent minor issues from turning serious, especially for our seniors or anyone who can't easily travel far.
• Boosting Mental Health Through Connection: This store won't just be shelves - it'll be where we chat, laugh, and support each other, fighting the isolation that sometimes hits us rural folks hard and leads to stress, anxiety, or loneliness.

We are looking for a licensed plumber to install an interlock system between the liquid propane line into the kitchen and the exhaust fan. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone! Things are moving and shaking at the Royalston General Store! We have a shiny new stove, but we could really use your help! Our new commercial stove (nearly 900 lbs!) was delivered, but the delivery company failed to move it into the store’s kitchen as promised, and they’re refusing to honor the service we paid for.

The stove is outside, and we need to get it up a few steps, into the store and into the kitchen. A forklift isn’t an option due to the steps, so we’re looking for some strong folks to lend a hand (or muscle!) to make this happen. If you have experience moving heavy equipment or can bring tools like a heavy-duty dolly, that’s a huge plus!

We’d love to coordinate this soon to get the store’s kitchen up and running. Please comment, message us, or stop by the store and ring the bell to let us know if you can help. ** Local Services and Referrals Needed! **

Hello community! 🌟

We have been busy, busy, busy working with state and town departments to learn the scope of the work before us, and we're off to a fantastic start!

We made a commitment to go local and involve the community in their store whenever possible, and as such the Royalston General Store is in need of the following services or referrals:

1. **Commercial Hood/Vent Cleaning**: We need someone who specializes in cleaning commercial kitchen hoods and vents. Creating a kitchen that is safe and spotless is a top priority!

2. **Exterminator**: Got wasps? We sure do, and we could use a professional to help us take care of them. Regulations also require us to maintain a relationship with a company for licensing purposes.

3. **Roofer**: Our store's front overhang could use some attention. We're looking for a skilled roofer to help with repairs.

4. **Oil Furnace Inspector**: Cold weather is inevitable, and we want to make sure our oil furnace is in tip-top shape. If you or someone you know can inspect and maintain it, please reach out!

5. **HVAC Inspector**. The warm weather will drift away soon, but we want to ensure this is working properly for years to come!

6. **Commercial Kitchen Appliance Cleaning**: We’re looking for a cleaning company to sanitize our commercial kitchen appliances and get everything sparkling.

THE ROYALSTON GENERAL STORE HAS CHANGED HANDS! Winter and Helder Vieira are the new owners as of January 24th. They are making plans to bring the store back to life as an essential part of the community and a major step toward the continued revitalization of the South Village. Winter and Helder will be focusing on needed repairs/improvements to the building over the next several months. They also plan to reach out to residents of Royalston to learn as much as possible about the community's needs. No opening date has been set. We all welcome them to our community and wish them the very best. They have written a letter to the community.
