Good news! 🙌

We're happy to share that Mariska is a recipient of the Wisconsin Fuel & Retail Association Scholarship. This four-year scholarship is awarded to just two students annually in the state of Wisconsin.

She is also the recipient of the 2025 Bluemkes Inc. Scholarship, which is given to one of our senior employees every year through the local scholarship program at Laconia.

Mariska has been a part of the Youth Apprenticeship program for the past two years, working early mornings before school and putting in many hours every week. She's smart, determined, and has become a leader on our staff. She knows how to work hard and get things done, has exceptional problem-solving skills and a whole lot of grit. We're proud to have her on our staff and celebrate her accomplishments! 🎉

What a difference three years can make!

This week marks three years since Elise joined our team as a quiet teenager starting her first job. She has been the best addition with her easy-going personality and her constant smile. You can spot her dimples from a mile away. She has the ability to find the humor in any stressful situation, and we appreciate how she is always there to support her co-workers in every way.

Elise will be headed off to college this fall, and we will miss her dearly. We will especially miss her witty conversations, her quick comebacks, and her never-ending laughter. Our kitchen won't be quite the same without her. 💙

Our string of first days continued this week with Kensley and Avonlea. Welcome to the Bluemkes family! 🫶

We are in the heart of our training season with a new group of high school students, and we ask for a little extra patience and understanding with the kids behind the counter as they learn the ropes of their first job. A word of encouragement or a kind smile can go a long way.

Congratulations to our 2025 Laconia graduates! 🎓

This group has a combined 13 years of experience working in our store. They've worked their share of chaotic shifts, early mornings before school, and late nights when homework was waiting for them. These kids understand the value of hard work and have exceeded every expectation set for them.

They will each set off on their own path this year with a solid foundation of job experience and leadership abilities. We're proud of the skills they've learned and the confidence they've gained. But we're most proud of the people they've grown up to be. 💙
