Deer licenses are available now! 🦌

Deer hunting season will be here before we know it. There are several changes this year for deer season:

• Minnesota DNR has launched a new electronic licensing system. Avoid any delay by logging in and purchasing your deer license: mndnr.gov/buyalicense 🔶

• Physical tagging of harvested deer is no longer required with the new license system. You can validate and register your deer harvest online, via the app, or in-person. 🌐

• The shotgun zone has been eliminated, but multiple counties opted to stay shotgun-only for the 2026 season. Check if your county has a shotgun ordinance: mndnr.gov/hunting/deer/shotguns.html 🔶

• Chronic wasting disease sampling has moved to a rotational schedule. Fi****ms opener mandatory sampling efforts will be focused in the southwest this year, with other sampling options available statewide. 🧪

• Carcass movement restrictions have changed and a new carcass disposal rule has been adopted. Learn more: mndnr.gov/deerimports/index.html 🛻
