Nothing says "Kentucky Derby" like a Mint Julep. To make the perfect Mint Julep cocktail for your Derby Party, place 3 fresh mint leaves in a chilled julep cup and top with a teaspoon of very fine sugar or simple syrup. (Traditionally a frosty silver or pewter cup is used but a highball or old-fashioned glass is the common modern replacement vehicle.) Gently muddle the leaves with the back of a spoon to release the flavors. Fill the glass with crushed ice and pour in a jigger of Bulleit Bourbon. Place a mint sprig on top, insert a straw, and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. Some prefer an added splash of seltzer but I say why ruin a good bourbon, in fact, once you taste Bulleit Bourbon you may opt to hold the mint, sugar and ice!

The subtlety and complexity of Bulleit® Bourbon comes from its unique blend of rye, corn, and barley malt, along with special strains of yeast and pure Kentucky limestone filtered water. We’ve found the best way to find exciting wines is to follow exciting winemakers. Over the years winemaker Ehren Jordan has compiled an impressive resume of outstanding wines and stellar reviews. If you’re a fan of Turley Wine Cellars you’ve probably tasted his wine (if you’re lucky enough to find a bottle). After 18 years as winemaker at Turley Cellars, Jordan left to focus on Ehren Jordan Wine Cellars, which produces Day Zinfandel.
