WINE OF THE WEEK…The Little Sheep of France Rosé 2025

Meet the happiest bottle in the shop.

If a wine could giggle, this would be it. Look at that label. Ten tiny sheep, each with its own personality, all marching across a perfect pink field. And yes, the cap is pink too. We are fully obsessed.

This is a Rosé from France and it is everything we want right now. Light, bright, and full of heart. On the nose and palate you get juicy wild strawberries, fresh raspberries, a little floral lift, and a super clean, refreshing finish. Smooth, balanced, and just plain delightful to drink.

The blend is mostly Cabernet Franc with Cabernet Sauvignon and Gamay, picked in the Languedoc and made with a gentle press and cool fermentation to keep all that fresh fruit alive. At 12.5%, it’s ideal for that golden hour pour.

I picked this one because it makes people happy. That’s it. No complicated tasting notes needed. You open it, you pour it, you share it, and suddenly the afternoon feels a little lighter.

It’s wonderful with salads, grilled seafood, goat cheese, or just on its own while you watch the world go by. It’s also a wonderful reminder that joy is a serious winemaking skill.

Kramer’s
Where we don’t give a sheep about the forecast, it’s always Rosé season. (Ok that was a stretch)

ATTENTION: It is Assan’s birthday.

If you’ve been to the store you know him. He’s the boss. I’m just the guy who pays rent.

He’ll be on the counter all day accepting birthday pets, compliments, and light bribes. He does not care that it’s Monday. He does not care that you’re busy. You’re gonna stop and say happy birthday.

He’s aged like fine wine, which is fitting cause he’s literally napping next to it. We’ve told him he’s not allowed to knock any bottles over today but no promises.

Stop by and wish him a happy birthday. He’ll pretend he doesn’t care but he totally does.

If you live around here you probably already know Lydia. And if you do not, let me have the honor of introducing you.

Please welcome the newest member of our Kramers family.

Lydia is just one of those people you meet once and you are instantly glad you did.

They laugh with their entire soul. The kind of laugh that makes everyone else start laughing too.

They are the kind of person who will let you go on and on about the nerdy thing you love and will sit there truly happy for you, like your excitement is their excitement.

The kind of person that makes you believe in the phrase good people.

We are so lucky to have them.

So when you stop in, come say hi and give them a warm welcome.

And please do me a favor and ask about the greatest John Stamos sci fi movie of all time. I promise you have never heard of it and you absolutely need to.

Let me tell you about my friend Yuriko.

We met by chance at one of my pop ups and just clicked right away. I was born here, but my roots are Peruvian. She was born in Peru and brought all of that heart and flavor with her when she moved here.

We stood there for the longest time just talking about what it means to carry Peru with you. Two different stories, but the same feeling. What we miss, what makes us proud, and what we want to share with other people.

That’s how our friendship grew, sharing tables, sharing stories, and laughing way too loud.

We both love this city. It’s home. And that’s exactly why we want to bring more of Peru to it. We want people to taste it, hear it, feel it. Because our culture is about warmth, it’s about family, it’s about pulling up another chair to the table.

Yuriko is one of those rare people who makes everything warmer just by being there. She’s pure light, pure talent, and pure heart. Everything she does, she does with so much love for where she comes from.

So I’m really excited to share that we’re doing a pop up together. And we’re dreaming even bigger, we want to create an event for the whole city to celebrate who we are.

Thank you, Yuriko, for your friendship and for dreaming big with me.

More info to come soon.

Big news…our very first Kramer’s Market Weekly E-Flyer is here!

We started this because we care so deeply about variety and choice. We believe everyone should be able to walk into our market and find something that feels like it was made just for them.

That’s why we’re always bringing in new products, especially from local makers. Because we care about our community so much, and we want to support the amazing people creating right here around us.

We want to be the place where you find your new favorite treat. Where you try something you never expected to love. Where you can hold up a snack and say “I found this at Kramer’s first.”

That little moment, sharing something delicious, discovering it together, is what ties a community together. And that’s what this market has always been about.

Our new Weekly E-Flyer is the best way to stay up-to-date on everything new arriving at the market each week.

All Packs A Booze Friday Reminder plus Your Labor Day Stock Up Call

This is one of my favorite weekends of the year.

Labor Day is not just the last big cookout of summer, it is a moment to actually pause and celebrate work. The hard, honest, everyday work that keeps our families, our neighborhoods, and our communities going. The early mornings, the late nights, the people who show up and give it their all. That deserves a backyard, some good food, and to be surrounded by the people we love most.

So if you are hosting, heading to a party, cookout, or get together this weekend, today is a really good day to stock up.

It is All Packs A Booze Friday at Kramer’s,
Mix and match any 2 packs and get 15% off, yes, NA and wine packs are included too.

Grab your cookout essentials, your cooler fillers, and that one pack you have been wanting to try.

Pictured, my very official Labor Day inventory system. Everything BUT the grill itself, which I definitely remembered to clean and absolutely did not just use as a shelf. A clean grill is a happy grill, and mine is getting there. Clean yours before I clean mine, please.

We are open and ready to get you set for the weekend. Come see us.

Hey there, this is your friendly neighborhood Rob.

Please excuse our mess.

We love this neighborhood so much and we want to do our small part to keep it as beautiful as it has always been.

The Museum District has always been special. What started as farmland back in the 1800s with the old Robinson House that is now part of the VMFA later became home to veterans and then blossomed between 1895 and 1940 into one of the most beautiful collections of early 20th century architecture in Virginia. Tree lined streets, brick row houses, front porches, neighbors actually walking and talking. It is the third largest historic district in the state for a reason. It became the Museum District in 1936 when the VMFA opened and it has been the heart of what is truly Richmond ever since.

We are so proud to be a small part of that tradition and we want to continue it.

So to keep our little corner of it shining, we will be painting the exterior of the building starting tomorrow. We hope to be all done by Thursday.

We will be open, just a little dusty. Thank you for your patience and for being the best neighbors in Richmond.

With love,
Rob at Kramers Market

WINE OF THE WEEK

Meet our new favorite duo. La Vieille Ferme Rosé Récolte 2025 and this very proud baby chick who just hatched to tell you it is delicious.

This rosé is French, fresh and basically sunshine in a bottle. And yes there are chickens on the label. So this pairing was meant to be. They insisted on a photoshoot.

Tasting notes. Strawberry, citrus and pure summer happiness.

Perfect for porch hangs, picnics, backyard BBQs and toasting to the good days that are right here.

And while you are here that sweet chick art is by local artist Elisa Kruger and it is FOR SALE in the store. Take home the wine AND the chicken. The full little farm collection.

At Kramer’s, come get clucked up!

Wine of the Week: Matua Cooler

Howdy, neighbors.

Quick story…Yesterday I was dragging the trash cans back behind the alley and realized I’d been in “work mode” for 11 hours straight. You know that feeling. Like your brain is still buffering.

So I grabbed one of these Matua Coolers out of the fridge. Sauvignon Blanc, sparkling water, little splash of kiwi. 80 calories, 4 cans to a pack. I wasn’t expecting much. Honestly just wanted something cold that wasn’t water from a plastic bottle.

I popped it open on the back steps. First sip tasted like sunshine learned how to swim. Bright, crisp, bubbly, with that kiwi sneaking in at the end like a surprise high five. No heavy wine thing. No sugar crash. Just… light.

Next thing I know, I’m texting Lisa next door to see if she and Mark want to fire up the grill. Kids ended up playing tag under the sprinkler. We passed cans around and talked about that new trail by the river and who’s got the best tomato plants this year. Nobody checked their phone for two hours. That’s rare.

So I’m calling it: Matua Cooler is the Wine of the Week around here.
Because it didn’t just taste good. It made space for the good stuff. The kind of evening where you remember why you bought a house on this block in the first place.

It’s easy, it’s refreshing, and it fits right in a cup holder on the lawn chair. If you see me at the store with a couple put to the side for me to take home, you’ll know why.

Porches are open. The can’s cold. Come by and tell me what you’re growing in the garden this year.

Cheers to the simple nights that end up being the best ones.
