One of cigar culture’s most recognizable names actually came from Brooklyn’s underground art scene.

Drew Estate’s ACID line takes its name from artist Scott “Acid” Chester, who was associated with the creative community around DUMBO, Brooklyn.

The brand later became famous for its distinctive aromatic to***co treatment.

What exactly goes into that process? Drew Estate has kept the precise formula proprietary. Botanicals, herbs, and aromatic elements have long been associated with the process, but the exact recipes remain closely guarded.

That secrecy has become part of ACID’s identity.

Partagás has been part of cigar history since the 1800s.

This week’s cigar spotlight is Partagás Y Nada Más.

The Partagás name dates back to 1845, when Jaime Partagás established his cigar factory in Havana.

Modern Partagás lines outside Cuba show how historic cigar brands continue to evolve through new factories, to***co origins, and blending approaches while carrying a name that has existed for generations.

“Y Nada Más” translates roughly to “and nothing more.”

Earth, cocoa and sweet hazelnut need something with a little depth beside them. 🥃

This Pairing Sunday features the MBombay Mora.

The Mora is known for a rich profile featuring moist earth, cocoa and sweet hazelnut, with additional cedar, spice and roasted characteristics depending on the vitola. MBombay describes it as a cigar built around smooth, evolving flavors.

Try it with:

🥃 Añejo Tequila — our pick. Oak, cooked agave, vanilla and caramel complement the Mora’s earth and cocoa.

🥃 Bourbon — brings additional vanilla and sweetness against the cigar’s darker notes.

☕ Espresso — reinforces cocoa, earth and roasted flavors.

🍺 Belgian Dark Ale — dark fruit, caramel and spice can create a surprisingly rich pairing; reviewers have also found strong dark Belgian-style b**r especially complementary with Mora.

⭐ OUR PICK: AÑEJO TEQUILA

Would you go tequila, bourbon, coffee or b**r?

This cigar’s to***co literally travels down the Amazon River before it reaches Nicaragua. 🌿🔥

This week’s Staff Pick is the 2026 CAO Amazon Basin.

The defining ingredient is Bragança to***co, grown in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest. After harvest, the leaves are rolled into dense bundles called carottes, fermented for six months, and transported by canoe as part of their journey out of the region.

The finished cigar combines that rare Brazilian to***co with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and additional Dominican and Colombian fillers. The 2026 release comes in a 6 × 52 Toro and is once again limited production.

Even the band is unusual. The cigar uses a twisted piece of to***co around the head instead of a conventional paper band.

Definitely not your everyday smoke.

One side racing ahead of the other? Don’t panic@and don’t attack it with the lighter. 😂🔥

An uneven cigar burn is often called canoeing or a runner, depending on how the burn develops.

Wind, an uneven initial light, smoking too quickly, or even the cigar’s construction can cause one side to burn faster than the other.

If the difference becomes significant, gently apply your flame to the slower-burning section of the wrapper. Use as little heat as necessary and let the cigar catch up naturally.

Too much direct flame can overheat the to***co and create harsher flavors.

🔥 Touch up don’t torch.

A little correction can restore a more even burn and help the blend perform the way it was intended.

Tatuaje’s Havana VI just turned 20 and the Red Label family got bigger. 🔴🔥

JUST IN: Tatuaje Havana VI 20th Anniversary Series E.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Havana VI line, Tatuaje introduced two new regular-production vitolas: Series B and Series E.

Series E measures 5⅜ × 52 and uses an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. Like the rest of the Havana VI line, it’s made in Nicaragua at My Father Ci**rs.

Twenty years later, the Red Label is still evolving.

📍 Now available at Cigar World NJ.

Most factories rest finished ci**rs before shipping. Padrón takes a different approach. 👀

Here’s an interesting part of the Padrón philosophy:

Padrón does not use an aging room for finished ci**rs.

Instead, the company puts the aging time into the to***co before it is rolled. Jorge Padrón has explained that the goal is for the cigar to be ready for the customer to enjoy as soon as they buy it not something they’re expected to keep aging for years before it tastes right.

Depending on the line, Padrón to***cos may already have several years of age before they ever reach the rolling table.

In other words:

They age the to***co not the finished cigar.

Would you still age a Padrón in your own humidor?
