More about Bourbon Whiskey:
Letโ€™s take it back to the mid-1700s, when Scots Irish settlers in whatโ€™s now Kentucky and Virginia started distilling corn-based whiskey. Corn was abundant, sweet, and perfect for crafting a bold new spirit. Combine that with the unique limestone-filtered water of the region, rich in calcium and free of iron, and you had the perfect recipe for a great whiskey.

But the real magic? That came in the 1780s, thanks to Elijah Craig, a clergyman turned distiller. Faced with fishy-smelling barrels (literally), he decided to char the inside of white oak casks, purifying them, and unknowingly inventing the signature flavor profile we now love in bourbon.

He stamped the barrels with their shipping origin, Bourbon County, and sent them off to New Orleans. After a 90-day trip, the spirit arrived smoother, darker, and richer than ever. Locals fell in love with this unique whiskey and started asking for more of โ€œthat bourbon.โ€

This special edition is expected to arrive on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 (a separate post will confirm once the delivery has shipped).
