Next in our Summer Island Series ☀️ Today’s offering is the second wine in our annual Island Series — a selection of wines produced from local grape varieties grown on the different islands of the Mediterranean Sea. These are the perfect wines to put you into a summer state of mind: just imagine guzzling glass after glass — on the deck, at the beach or by the pool.

For part two of our 2025 series, we’re traveling to Sardinia, Italy: the Mediterranean’s second-largest island and home to some amazing indigenous grapes. At brothers Michele and Marco Schirru are crafting sensational wines from their ancient, bush-trained vines and their Fastìgiu Rosso is a prime example.

Getting ready for a special Bordeaux wine tasting this Saturday! 🍷We’re welcoming — President of Vignobles Malartic and Co-Manager of Château in Pessac-Léognan — to the Princeton Corkscrew!

It will be an extra special treat, as Véronique is one of the most influential women in Bordeaux today and Malartic-Lagravière is one of the premier estates — not only in Graves, but in all of Bordeaux — consistently receiving scores in the mid-to-high 90s over the last two decades-plus.

Barr Hill Spirits tasting this Saturday 🐝 We are welcoming (back) Patrick Amice, once the Corkscrew’s Soirits Manager, and now General Manager of Hospitality Operations at Distillery in Montpelier, Vermont for a rare spirits tasting at the Princeton Corkscrew on Saturday, June 7th from 1 – 5 pm!

Patrick — former Spirits Manager here at the Corkscrew — now oversees the cocktail bar at Barr Hill’s Gin Lane Distillery, helping lead their bar and hospitality program to become a 2024 finalist for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar (Top 5 national finish).

Barr Hill Distillery was established in 2011 in Hardwick, VT as an agricultural initiative between a beekeeper and a distiller with the goal of acting as stewards for the land, working with local farmers and ingredients and protecting pollinators. Plus, Barr Hill also crafts incredible, award-winning spirits. Their flagship gin is the most awarded gin in America and they have been voted Best Distiller in Vermont ten times and twice as Vermont’s Best Cocktail Bar (Seven Days Vermont).

Drop by our shop on Saturday, June 7th, anytime between 1 – 5 pm for this not-to-be-missed event. Patrick will be on hand to answer all your questions as we feature Barr Hill’s amazing spirits for what is sure to be another fantastic in-store tasting at the Corkscrew. Be sure to bring your friends!

Welcome to Rosé weather ☀️ Laurent writes, “One of my favorite things about the rosé is that it has something for everyone: fruit intensity, minerality, vibrancy, freshness, concentration and texture. As an added bonus, the wine is incredibly versatile: perfect for sipping on a sunny afternoon or pairing with a wide range of foods from roasted vegetables with aioli to whole-grilled fish. The Château Sainte-Croix pours a bright pink in the glass, highlighted by an iridescent blue rim, a dead giveaway of Provence. Soft, mixed berry and stone fruit aromas dance from the glass mixed with a wet-rock minerality. This stunning rosé washes over the palate with flavors of ripe red berry and rich citrus — orange and tangerine — complemented by a refreshing acidity. The wine is delicate, yet possesses depth and complexity. An ideal spring/summer sipper, pair this with a fresh tomato salad served with marinated grilled shrimp and vegetable kabobs for a fabulous dinner!”

Early last year, we excitedly introduced a wonderful new producer to the Corkscrew: ! For the last decade-plus, Ernst Storm has been crafting incredible Santa Barbara wines from some of the top vineyard sites in the region and this wine is another sterling example: Storm Wines’ 2023 Santa Barbara County Chardonnay.

Ernst uses old-world influence and new-world techniques to create terroir-driven wines with fruit sourced from sustainable, organic and biodynamic vineyards in Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez Valley.

On special now: a Bordeaux blockbuster! Laurent writes, “Château is an historic estate that is always at the top of any list when speaking of the great producers in Listrac. When I first tasted the 2021 vintage, I was stunned by the purity of fruit, suave tannins, flavor concentration, refreshment, complexity and depth of the wine. After learning the price, I immediately bought all that I could, knowing that I had to share this amazing Left Bank Bordeaux with my customers. To get this much wine from such prestigious terroir, a great producer and one of the best Bordeaux vintage this century at such an amazing price is a home run!”
