My goal is to taste as many wines as possible each month, (I know rough job right), and weed out the not so good ones, and let you the know about the really great ones that provide the best value and most drinking enjoyment. One of our many stops in our latest Walla Walla trip was to Rotie Cellars, where the vineyard is truly made up of rocks.
Another favorite stop is Gifford Hirlinger, visiting with owner/winemaker Mike and his lovely wife Melissa.
Beautiful country and incredible wines.
We visited 14 wineries and were able to try 90 different wines.

Browne Family Chardonnay- 375ml
This is my favorite Chardonnay for the price. Already enjoyed 2 cans this week.
Chardonnay Cans - Passion fruit and toasted marshmallow aromas with flavors of pear and yellow delicious apple. The wine is silky and elegant in structure with a toasted oak and tropical fruit finish.

Here is my report on the latest Pinot Noir tasted this week.
The Stephen Goff Pinot is nice. A lighter color with soft, yet structured cherry flavor profile. I enjoyed it.

STEPHEN GOFF 2017 Pinot Noir - $27.99
92 points Wine Spectator: "Harmonious and gracefully complex, with expressive notes of violet, raspberry and cherry that build structure on a long finish. Drink now through 2025. 252 cases made."

This wine is roughly 70/30 blend of Weber and Shea Vineyards aged in predominantly 1 and 2 year old barrels this blend is distinctly Weber in the nose with Shea providing some underlying structure and density to the mid-palate. Bright red fruits dominate the nose and palate in a more open textured and approachable package. Highlighting the more delicate and pretty nature of the 2017 vintage, this wine is drinking well now and should cellar well over the next 6-8 years.

The Brick House Pinot
I wasn’t able to get past a couple sips of this wine. There is an underlying flavor I couldn’t quite pinpoint and it does not appeal to my taste. Had to dump the bottle.

Wine Spectator: Tightly focused and well-structured, with a beam of vibrant tannins and acidity that pairs with blueberry, raspberry, savory tea and stony earth flavors. Finishes with broad-shouldered tannins.

2018 Patricia Green. Wine Spectator 92 Pts. $34.99
A quietly brooding red, featuring a structured backbone that's paired with deep blueberry and cherry flavors, accented by stony mineral and herb tea details.
