Looking through these photos from the last 4 years, it’s hard to believe they’re all from the same chapter of our lives.
The storefront for the most part stays the same, but the people in these photos changed with each passing year.
The last image in this carousel was taken on the day we opened Goodies in 2022. Looking at it now, it’s funny to imagine that those two people had no idea what kinds of growth, learnings and change was awaiting them.
We thought we were opening a shop.
Instead, we spent the next four years opening our doors and lives to new experiences with new found community.
When we moved to Portland in 2021, we never imagined we’d open a store less than a year later. We certainly never imagined how much our lives would change because of it.
This little corner of Old Town became the backdrop to some of the most important years of our lives. We poured thousands of hours into these four walls. We met people who became friends. We found a community that welcomed us in. We learned lessons we couldn’t have learned any other way.
Along the way, our family grew too.
The three of us standing here today are very different from the two people who unlocked the door for the first time.
And honestly, we’re grateful for that.
As we get ready to close this chapter, we’re feeling a lot of things. Nostalgic. Proud. Grateful. Tired. Mainly, excitement for what’s next. And a deep appreciation for everyone who helped make this place what it became.
Goodies isn’t finished.
A new chapter is already taking shape, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
But before we turn the page, we’d love to see you one more time.
Come visit us before our final day on June 21st and share a memory from the last four years. We’d love to hear it. ❤️
