Super nice people & WE feel the COMMUNITY WILL BE VERY SATISFIED, That's why we did our homework & Vetted our choice
Pizza, Chicken, Subs & Ice Cream will STAY. New owners are looking to bring more items in.
Store Name will Change when Things are Complete.

Polk Corner Store & Amato Pizzeria now has a couple chances to survive & stay in the community & open.
On January 10th, 2024, a date of January 27th, 2024 was set as the last day of operation.
We announced that we would be closing the Polk Store due to unfortunate & devastating health issues that had caused us to make the horrible decision to close the store. Since the announcement we have received interest from some parties to purchase the store & keep it alive. While we work negotiating a deal with one the interested parties we will do what we can to keep the Polk Store alive & running so the closing date has been removed
To keep the asset for the Employees & Community & possible future buyers alive.
As things advance we will post more as we know more
So for now & hopefully for the future the Store will STAY.
Making the decision to close was very difficult decision, we are really hoping these talks continue on a positive path for everyone.
We REALLY DO APPRECIATE ALL THE UNDERSTANDING & KIND COMMENTS FOR THE DECISION WE HAD TO MAKE.
Because of the support we received in the comments we are working hard on trying to turn the store over to someone who will keep it going & probably advace things further than we did.

Thought we would take a moment to give some details to what helped us in our long long multiple multiple conversations & final decision to step away from the Polk Corner Store & Deli/ Amato Pizzeria.
We have now owed & operated the store for 3 1/2 years now.
In that time both Angelene & I have lost our dad's then In July 2021, I had Sudden Cardiac Death where I was in asystole 3 times. The chance of surviving that is SO RARE. I had a pacemaker/defibrillator implanted at that time to hopefully prevent Cardic Arrest again. Just as I was on the upside of recovering my wife of 28 1/2 years been a couple for 31 years received a devastating diagnosis in November of 2022. She has been diagnosed with Advanced stage 4 terminal colo/rectal paratenial carcinomatosis cancer. At the time she had an emergency surgery placing a colostomy. Where we were given grim life expectancy. We dug for options.
We got connected with an oncologist in Cleveland that said a surgery was possible to help with life expectancy, so Angelene went through 6 months of Chemo treatments
August 2023, Angelene had a surgery removing ALL of her female organs, spleen, gallbladder, ALL of her large intestine, a chunk of her liver, & a significant piece of her right diaphragm.
A illiosomy replaced her colostomy because she now has no large intestine. A VERY VERY LARGE SURGERY for all at once. They said they removed all the cancer they could see. Now to January 2024. Angelene is 3 rounds into her 2nd 6 month series of Chemo because the nasty has returned. Obviously well before expected. So with that said & this is short expectation we have decided to let the store go & do everything we can to spend as much time as possible with each other with the smallest amount of stress as possible.
Angelene has been my best friend, my partner in everything in life for over 2/3 of my life. I owe it to her to give her as much time as I can
Selling of the building is being discussed as we have a several asking & wanting more information. Could the store stay, it's possible but not by us

Due to unfortunate circumstances and health issues we regret to inform you.
Polk Corner Store & Deli/Amato Pizzeria will be closing. Our last day of operation will be
Saturday January 27, 2024. We would like to thank our loyal staff for all their hard work. We would also like to thank our loyal customers. Inflation and economy has been hitting all the mom and pop shops to include us.
Closing could happen sooner as supplies run out
This will be our last week of ordering products
