Hi guys, Sherry & Bart here. I will be closing this FB page now that Joni Harlan is no longer there to maintain it and we no longer own the store. I wanted to say thank you to all of our employees, ex-employees, friends, family, customers and customers who were like family that supported us for 19 years.

After Bart & I served our country in the USAF, we lived in Los Angeles for 12 years. We moved back to Pleasanton in 2004 wanting a more simple life for us and our kids. We moved not knowing what type of business we were going to start. We just took a Leap of Faith and as always, God provided and the store basically fell in our lap.

Through the 19 years that we owned the store, we made so many friends and even best friends. People that will ALWAYS be a part of our lives. As our kids were growing up, we also watched your kids grow up. Some of you were just kids when we first met you and now you have kids of your own. Our customers were the best. We always tried to treat each and every one of you as family because without you we wouldn’t have been able to support our family.

We sponsored all of the sports programs, allowed the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts to setup fundraiser tables in front of the store. We bought Christmas wrap, books, etc from your kids because your kids were our kids. A couple of them were almost born in the store because mom’s needed their Dr. Pepper and snacks for the hospital.

We couldn’t have done any of this without all of you and more importantly all of our employees who were more like extended family. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!

We closed this chapter of our lives and look forward to the next chapter. We have faith that God will lead us in the right direction as he has always done. Please stay in touch and when we come back to Pleasanton to visit family and friends, I hope we will see you too.

I am just informing all of the loyal customers of Sherry’s that Joni will be leaving the store to bigger and better opportunity and her last day is June 30 she will open at 7am.
For all of my customers I have posted a Goodbye letter from Joni in the window so you can all stop by and read. Farewell to everyone I will miss you all 🥲🥲🥲

FYI— Sunday we had a regular customer who came in the store to purchase some items. Undoubtedly he did not see me standing behind the counter doing paperwork. The cashier ask him if he needed anything else, and he did not reply as she gave him a total of what he had on the counter he said with attitude, “I need it a damn bag of ice.” The tone and attitude that was in his voice pi**ed me off. So I told him to put his $@- # attitude in check. And then he said nothing I will not tolerate anyone speaking to my employees in that manner So if you think I was wrong I apologize but this is one thing I will always do for my workers and myself. JACOB'S WELL SWIMMING UPDATE:

Jacob’s Well Natural Area is suspending its 2024 summer swimming season until further notice. The summer swimming season, which typically extends from May 1 through Sept. 30 of each year, will be suspended due to below-average spring flow and water levels. Hays County officials plan to re-evaluate water conditions monthly to determine whether swimming might become possible at a later date.
