ANNOUNCEMENT!

RESULTS OF THE PLAINFIELD CO-OP REAL ESTATE VOTE

Voting began at the special membership meeting on Sunday, May 11 at 4 pm and continued at the Route 2 store through 7pm on Monday, May 19.

This was a YES or NO vote to authorize the Plainfield Co-op Board to sell the building at 153 Main Street for the sum of $180,000 to Plainfield Granary LC.

Per the Co-op Bylaws, a 2/3 Majority is required for real estate decisions
The results are as follows:

YES: 121
NO: 1
NOT VALID: 6
TOTAL VOTES: 128

Congratulations to Chris and Aedan of Plainfield Granary, and to the Plainfield Co-op membership.

Thank you to everyone who attended this week’s informational meetings on the sale of the Coop’s village building at 153 Main Street.

For those who were unable to attend, below is the link to the Zoom recording of Monday’s meeting.

Members who are current with their equity payments may cast their vote at the ballot box located at the register on the grocery side of the Route 2 location. Voting will remain open through Monday, May 19th at 7pm.

Any cashier can assist you with making your equity payment.

All real estate transactions must be approved by a vote of the membership. Voting will begin at the May 11 meeting and continue through May 19 at the Route 2 store.

To vote, you must be a member in good standing: current with your equity payments. A member share costs $180, with minimum annual payments of $20 until you reach that total. You can make payment at the registers.
