Y’all, we’re just getting rolling down at Bynum Front Porch. The sweet part of summer’s still ahead - long golden evenings, mason jars full of sweet tea, and music floating through the trees like a warm breeze.

Every Friday, the porch lights come on, the guitars come out, and the whole town turns into one big front yard. Folks spread quilts on the grass, unpack their picnic baskets, and kick off their shoes. Kids run wild, lightning bugs dance, and the band plays on as the sun sinks low.

Best part? It’s all free. Free music, free and easy parking, and nothing but good vibes.

Shout out for a new local business! Pilates at the Core located in Pittsboro right off 64 East close to Pittsboro Pet Supply. I have been going regularly since they opened and I absolutely love it! The instructors are great, they really listen, and there is something for everyBODY. I feel stronger with each class and my body feels great when I am done. Highly recommend checking it out if you want to do something to take care of your BODY!

This Sunday is First Sunday- come out to downtown Pittsboro for our fabulous street fair. Not only that, but we will be featuring LIVE MUSIC by Mondo Guitaro @ Vino!! Wine Shop for PBO First Sunday! From 2-4 PM. "Lonesome Tones for High Plains Drifters" Mondo Guitaro performs spaghetti western, surf, and 1960's style instrumentals arranged for two guitars.

Donna Washington presents “Stories for Grownups”

Please note: Though some local folks may know and love her for her storytelling in their children's schools, this intimate indoor show is actually for us grownups (and older kids 11+), not for little children— thanks 💙

Donna Washington is an award-winning internationally known master storyteller, artist-educator, and author who has been providing workshops and performing for audiences of all ages for over thirty-six years. She is renowned for her storytelling for both children & adults from poignant & funny fables about the human condition to racy relationships stories to spine-tingling tales of terror.

She has been featured at numerous festivals, schools, libraries, theaters and other venues around the world including Canada, Peru, Ireland Argentina & Hong Kong. During the pandemic, she presented over two hundred shows & workshops virtually online.

In 2020, she co-founded the non-profit organization Artists Standing Strong Together with Master Storyteller Sheila Arnold for which they won a 2021 Oracle Award. In 2022 she received the Coleen Salley Storytelling Award.

Donna's eleven storytelling CDs have garnered thirty national awards. She has authored numerous articles about storytelling and education including her very popular blog Language, Literacy & Storytelling. She is also the author of six children’s books.

She travels all over the world performing and presenting workshops.

Mill Town Yarns shows are inside the cozy & quaint Bynum General Store. Free admission. Hat & QR code passed for donations.
