Brand new release. For over 20 years, “My Father” meant Nicaragua. In 2025, the Garcia family opened their first-ever factory in Honduras. Today’s Unlock 🔓: Highclere Castle Victorian

🌿 Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano (upper priming)
🌿 Binder: Brazilian Mata Fina
🌿 Filler: Nicaraguan Corojo & Criollo (Estelí · Jalapa · Ometepe)
🏭 Factory: Tabacalera AJ Fernandez — Estelí

⭐ Rating: 93 points — #21 Top 25 Ci**rs of 2020, Cigar Aficionado

You probably know Highclere Castle as the setting of Downton Abbey. What you might not know — the same family bankrolled Howard Carter’s 1922 expedition that discovered King Tut’s tomb. The 8th Earl of Carnarvon partnered with Foundation Ci**rs’ Nick Melillo to recreate the to***co actually smoked in the castle during the Victorian era. Built from castle archive records. Rolled by AJ Fernandez. A cigar Cigar Aficionado called “fit for a lord.”

And that’s what makes the Highclere Castle Victorian today’s unlock.

Today’s Unlock 🔓: Aladino Cameroon

🌿 Wrapper: Honduran-Grown Cameroon (Eiroa family farm)
🌿 Binder: Honduran Authentic Corojo
🌿 Filler: Honduran Authentic Corojo
🏭 Factory: Fabrica de Puros Aladino — Las Lomas, Jamastran Valley
🇭🇳 Country: Honduras
🎯 Flavor notes: cedar, natural sweetness, almond, red pepper flake, vanilla, baking spice, leather, cocoa
💪 Strength: Medium

Most Cameroon wrapper comes from Africa. Julio Eiroa said — I’ll grow my own. Took him 3.5 years on the family farm in Honduras to perfect a Cameroon-seed wrapper that wasn’t just a copy of what’s already out there. Released the line in 2020. One of the only Honduran-grown Cameroon wrappers in the entire premium cigar industry. Eiroa and his son Justo built the original Camacho brand before launching Aladino in 2016 — named after a vintage movie theater in Danlí they converted into a working factory. Crop-to-shop, all in-house.

And that’s what makes the Aladino Cameroon today’s unlock.

The Jekyll and Hyde of the My Father lineup. Looks like a mild morning Connecticut. Then you retrohale and the Nicaraguan core punches through. The Preferidos line launched in 2003 for the 100th anniversary, in the signature doble figurado perfecto shape — tapered on both ends so the cigar smokes three different ways from foot to head.
