An issue has came up recently that needs to be addressed. I apologize for the long post, but apparently it has became necessary. I want to be very honest and transparent with my past, present, and future clients.
It has come to my attention that Mike Maddelena from Dunlap has been contacting potential customers who comment or share my posts, lying to them and saying I cheated people out of money in the past. Completely untrue.
A few years ago I started this business as Morrisons Woodwork Creations. It was during Covid when pretty much all craftsman, tradesman, and skilled labor had a massive wait list. Some businesses had wait lists due to lack of employees coming to work, unable to get materials from suppliers, and/or a back log of customers waiting for orders and jobs to get done. At that time, even our local Amish community had an 8 month wait list. Just like so many others, I had a wait list that was 6-8 months long. Even for small orders, I went down my list, as they were ordered. I had a few customers who had placed custom orders with me and got tired of being on that wait list. They started accusing me of taking their money and not doing the job. I repeatedly told them I had other customers ahead of them, but it didn’t stop them from going on social media and voicing their complaints. And when I was made aware of the posts on Dunlap Grapevine, I tried to defend myself and post screenshots of conversations. Mike Maddelena had me blocked from the page and allowed others to continue to spread rumors without speaking to me first and getting my side. Due to all this taking place, I took a loss on all materials that had been bought for those customers orders, I then issued out $3,500 in refunds, and shut my business down. It just became too much to deal with, and people like Mike made it hard to defend myself. I shut this business down for 2 years. However, I love what I do and enjoy the things I build for people and their homes. So I started the business back up in late 2023. And yet even after all this time, I’m still getting screenshots from people showing me where Mike is still spreading lies and telling people I cheated people out of money. It’s completely false.
I tell this story to everyone on my business page because I want people to know the truth. When you place an order with me, I only ask for half down as a deposit. That deposit puts you on my wait list. You don’t owe me a dime until your order is complete to your satisfaction and delivered to your home.
Mike, I won’t let you or your lies run me off and make me shut down my business this time. I will continue to promotoe both my business and the other small businesses of this Valley, because I want all of us to be successful, and because I want all the customers of this valley to be happy with the work that they’ve paid for from these businesses. Your behavior and attitude won’t deter me. Have the day you deserve!
