The team was started in 2004 and has been going strong for over fifteen years. We have participated in many events within our school district as well as in our community. In the past, we have shown off our robot and our members at school assemblies, our local Homecoming Parade, as well as at our schools Relay for Life celebrations. We also interact with younger students at our local Middle and Ele
mentary schools through having some of our team members mentor our local FLL team (FIRST Lego League) and help them achieve their full potential in Middle School, as well as demonstrating our robot to our elementary schools Lego Club. In doing this, our team works to spark an early interest in science and technology, as well as introduce kids to the option of joining our team once they reach high school. In the past, we also helped our local Boy Scout troops earn their Robotics Merit Badges by hosting clinics every few months, which we are now working to turn into a nonprofit clinic. Our team also participates in mock competitions at Summerfest (the largest music festival in the country) in which over 83,000 people visit each day, as well as Robofest to show off our robot and further broadcast the message of FIRST. This year our team has continued to innovate in both how we created our robots and how we helped develop new skills in our students. With the addition of our 3D printer a few years ago, we are able to create our own parts for our robot and be more creative in our design. Our team also began to give more presentations to potential sponsors both large and small, and also through our new program for raising funds this year called the 100x100 program. In our 100x100 program, members of our team hit the streets of Pewaukee and talk to local businesses, working to get $100 from 100 different businesses, therefore not only raising money for our team, but also further connecting to our local community.
