Its so important that we understand that it is not "just" illegal, it is dangerous to sell to a minor. I know refusing to sell alcohol to someone can get spicy, but sometimes the answer MUST be "no". Congrats to all who passed! (We passed both times)

On April 15, 2025, the Perry Police Department conducted a follow-up alcohol and to***co compliance check on eight local businesses within the city with the assistance of other agencies.

Six of the eight businesses passed the compliance check, with two that failed being repeat offenders. This is an improvement compared to the compliance check conducted on March 4, 2025, where only two of eight passed.

Two citations were issued for selling alcohol to a minor under 21.
One store did not ID the minor before completing the sale. The other did ID the minor and still conducted the sale.

Compliance checks are done to prevent people under the age of 21 from obtaining alcohol and to***co to ensure that businesses are restaurants that hold licenses and are checking identification and not providing alcohol or to***co to minors.

While we would like to congratulate the passing stores that improved compared to the first compliance check, be aware that we will continue to do compliance checks.

The Perry Police Department would like to thank the 8th District Attorney’s Office MCU/DTF, Noble County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics for their assistance in the compliance checks.
