HAPPY JUNETEENTH!

Support Black-Owned businesses today (and everyday!)

On June 19, 1865, word reached the furtherest troops fighting the Civil War in Texas that the Union had won the war and the Emancipation Proclamation was ordered in Galveston and proclaimed that slavery had ended and that all former slaves were free. Juneteenth celebrations were first recorded in 1866 and became an annual tradition in Texas before spreading across the South and the reminder of the US over the years. Juneteenth was designated a national holiday under President Biden in 2021.

Today, our rights as US citizens are under attack and we must continue to stand and fight against tyranny. The current administration is refusing to celebrate and recognize Juneteenth - BUT THIS WILL NOT STOP US!

In many ways, Juneteenth is a greater celebration of freedom than July 4. With the Stonewall Riots happening just over a hundred years later, June truly is a time to celebrate freedom and continue the fight to ensure freedom for future generations. We will not go back!

While Palm Springs celebrates Pride in November, June is still PRIDE MONTH so we're going to celebrate! We started the month off pouring wine with Amy Atwood Selections (https://www.amyatwood.com/) at Equality Wine Fest (https://equalitywinefest.com/) where we featured some great wines from LGBTQ+ makers from California and Oregon. We were thrilled to see so many friends and to see our community come together for such a great event!

One of our founders/partners, Chris White, is headed to New York at the end of May for the final week of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. He has spent the past few months learning about growing a business with an incredible cohort of entrepreneurs from across the country! Goldman Sachs 10ksb offers business courses through Babson College and helps entrepreneurs make their small businesses big! The final week is spent with over 300 business scholars at Goldman Sachs where they will finish their growth plans, practice pitching, and then graduating from this incredible program. We've got some excited things planned for the next five years so stay tuned to learn more!

It's still happening! We will be announcing the opening of our new location in The Place in Indio in the weeks to come. Stay tuned!
