The Forbus General Store in tiny Pall Mall, Tennessee, has been serving the Cumberland Plateau since 1892...over 130 years of small-town tradition. Tucked along a bend on Highway 127 near the Kentucky line, it’s easy to spot with its tall wooden statues and rocking chairs out front. Step through the old screen door and you’re hit with the creak of worn wood floors, glass counters full of homemade fudge and ice cream, and shelves stocked with country ham, coonskin caps, and antiques. In winter, the scent of the wood stove fills the room. They serve hearty breakfasts, hot lunches, and unforgettable jar milkshakes.
