🚨 ACTION ALERT: H**p Extension Language Is Under Threat 🚨

Senator Ted Budd has announced plans to offer an amendment that would remove the temporary h**p extension included in the Continuing Resolution (CR).

This extension is critical. It gives Congress the time needed to develop a thoughtful, long-term h**p policy rather than allowing a sweeping ban to take effect before lawmakers have finished their work.

The h**p industry supports strong safeguards to keep intoxicating products away from children, including age restrictions, responsible labeling, child-resistant packaging, and enforcement against bad actors.
Removing the extension will not solve these challenges- it will prevent Congress from finishing the job.

THC 🏆 Study at University of Colorado Boulder researchers tracked 243 people with chronic lower back pain over 14 days of real-world (not clinical-trial) cannabis edible use, published in Biomedicines.

Key findings:

• Pain intensity was lower on days participants used THC-containing edibles vs. days they didn’t
• More frequent THC edible use in the prior 24 hours = greater pain reduction
• CBD-dominant edibles showed no pain-relief effect, at any frequency of use
• Authors call for larger studies to nail down optimal THC/CBD doses and ratios

A separate JAMA data point cited in the piece — about 1 in 3 chronic pain patients use cannabis for pain, and many substitute it for opioids.
