Thank you all for the support and such kind words in response to our last post. One of my visions for Barkville was to turn the outside entrance wall into a memorial - dedicated to our beloved dogs who crossed the rainbow bridge. That way they could always be remembered along with our furry friends that currently got to be members of Barkville Buddies. To honor that wall, I would love the opportunity for anyone who would like to, share a picture in the comments of their buddy who has passed away, with a description that honors them the most.

My fur baby I’m sharing name is Teddy. He was such a lover to everyone and just wanted to give kisses whenever he could. He would have loved to run around Barkville. You will always be missed my Teddy. 🐾🌈

Dear Barkville Buddies Community,

It is with a heavy heart I have to write this status update. I have been getting a lot of messages asking for updates on opening and ways to get involved. I am so grateful for all those messages because the core goal of Barkville Buddies was to offer a place of community. A place where people could gather, with the added bonus of our furry friends, and enjoy activities and entertainment. A place that is open to all people who needed a place where they felt a part of something. Unfortunately due to delays, set backs, and lack of additional financial assistance, Barkville Buddies will not be opening. I sincerely appreciate everyone who supported my dream and vision. I hope one day things will align to allow for the dream to come full circle. Although we were not able to get the doors open, the support from the community shows that one day that may be possible.
Until then, thank you for everything. I sincerely appreciate you all.

We had an amazing time yesterday at the 2nd Annual Oswego Pet Parade! Every year we will continue to learn and build to be able to bring these fun events to the community of Oswego at Harrison Square!

Thank you to Adam Kern for all his work for the Love of Dogs after party! Also bringing awareness to fundraise for the K9 police dogs and their supplies!

Most importantly, thank you to all the vendors including Toast the narcoleptic doodle, the community, Oswego Police Department, and Oswego Fire Department for coming out and making it more special!

We look forward to hosting next year and continue to do what we love, bringing people together!

Also shout out to Barky the Barkville mascot for bringing so much joy to the parade and after party!

Tomorrow is the day and we are getting very excited! We are hoping it doesn’t rain on our parade ☔️, but we have indoor space prepared just in case! 🌦️☀️🐾🐾

Our little helpers have been working hard all morning to make signs so it will be easier for eveyone to know where to go!

Can’t wait for a day of fun for the whole family!!

Had the pleasure of being interviewed by Lisa Hillman- john greene Realtor about all the exciting things happening at Harrison Square, including Barkville Buddies!

Who is the face of Barkville Buddies? 🐶🐾

Myra was rescued from Kentucky at 2 years old.
She was found as a stray with no insight to her back story besides the clear fact it wasn't good.
Myra hasn't fully learned to trust humans, but Myra is a loyal,loving dog that proves love can still grow from pain.
Although her fear of humans will keep her away from attending Barkville till she gets better, the second chance of love in her eyes is why her face is on our logo. The love in those once defeated and broken eyes will live on forever.
