May 24th marks the 49th anniversary of the Judgement of Paris, a blind-tasting competition that pitted French wines against California wines.

Q: What’s the right temp to serve my wines? And why is this important anyway?

Answer: This is a great question! To get the most aroma and flavor from your wine, you want to serve it at the correct temperature. If your wine is too warm, you will be overwhelmed with a hot “alcohol” aroma and it won’t taste right. If your wine is too cold, then all those wonderful aromas and flavors will be lost and you’ll just taste a cold wine beverage.

If you have a wine fridge or cellar, then you can control the temperatures by setting the zones correctly. If you store your wines in the fridge, just take them out 20-30 min before drinking for whites and 35-40 min before drinking for reds. Enjoy!
