Instead of avoiding the term, Iglesias decided to reclaim it and turn it into something positive.

His tequila brand Pocho Fino embraces the identity of Mexican-Americans who live between two cultures — honoring their Mexican roots while growing up in the United States.

The brand features several tequila varieties, including blanco, reposado, and flavored expressions, celebrating traditional Mexican tequila-making while reflecting Iglesias’ personality and story.

For Iglesias, the name is about pride and identity, showing that being Mexican-American isn’t something to be criticized — it’s something to celebrate.

By turning a once-negative word into the name of his tequila brand, Iglesias hopes to change the narrative and highlight the strength of a culture that exists on both sides of the border.
