I've been warring with myself on whether to make this post or not, but ultimately, the risk is worth it. The risk of public backlash. As I strongly believe in the important of Pride month, in being an ally. And if I can't stand up for what I believe in, can't say I support the life choices of my peers, what's the point? Everyone deserves love and acceptance.
Having lived with chronic depression & anxiety and having it flare to an unbearable level this year after having been told by select admins & mods of the Moo Moo Subaru community that I personally, and professionally, was no longer welcome. No longer able to be apart of the community. I crumbled at the loss of being able to post & comment, even as a member & mooer. I've held off making this post in fear of further backlash. In fear of further isolation. Something I'm not sure I could endure.
But that's not fair. Being an ally isn't about doing so when it's easy. Or when no one is looking. It's about standing up when our communities need us the most. When stones are being thrown and people need to come together, not fall apart.
If you agree, I'd invite you to like and share this post. Even if you're afraid of the public backlash too. At the risk of being dramatic, HUMANity needs us to stand together. To accept each other. We all only have so much time, let's spend it building each other up rather than tearing each other down.
