Through the Lexington (KY) Sister Cities Commission, RD1 celebrates its hometownโ€™s global ties with a Limited Release inspired by sister cities Shinhidaka, Japan, and Deauville, France. This unique expression brings together Americaโ€™s Native Spirit with wood from both countries.

They began by heavily finishing 5-year bourbon with medium toasted French Oak โ€œnecklaces,โ€ resting it for twice as long as our standard French Oak Bourbon. This was then blended with 7-year Bourbon and 8-year Rye to deepen complexity. Finally, lightly toasted Mizunara staves were added briefly, lending soft notes of sandalwood and incense.
