Meet Vanessa! Every Memorial Day, this friendly green sea serpent magically appears in Farm Pond in Oak Bluffs, and she sticks around all summer before disappearing again on Labor Day.

For more than 30 years, Vanessa has become an Island legend, delighting visitors, inspiring stories, and leaving plenty of people wondering… have you ever actually seen her? 👀

What you may not know is that Amelie and her family are the caretakers behind Vanessa, bringing her to life in Farm Pond every summer. And now, her story has been captured in a charming book about how Vanessa fell in love with Martha’s Vineyard and made the Island her summer home.

Some artwork is simply meant to find its way home. 🐻‍❄️✨

This original oil painting of a polar bear by Lexi Loyot found its forever home last weekend, and the story behind it makes it even more special. The collector purchased one of Lexi’s pieces from Curio last year and couldn’t stop thinking about this painting. When they returned to the Island this summer, they knew it was time to bring it home.

I love moments like these, they’re a reminder that art has a way of staying with us until the timing is just right.
