Our May Selection of the Month...
For the month of May we were thinking something new and exciting. We were looking for a wine totally fresh to the market. A wine that is unique and different, however still a good buy for the money. But where would we look to find such a wine? We have continually exploited the values of the Argentinian and Chilean region of the world. So where could we turn, why California of course, where else. But the vineyards of California are far too vast to explore them all, so what are we to do? .....And then it happened, we were no longer lost in our quest for the next wine of the month, Mischief by Lost Angel.
Lost Angel wines are a product of the Eos Estate Winery located in the Paso Robles appellation of California. The Eos Winery is a state of the art facility built in 1985 and modeled after an Italian monastery. Majority of their wines produced are high end, premium quality. The Lost Angel line is clearly a beneficiary of this elevated standard without having to sacrifice the extra cost. Mischief is a red blend comprised of Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Verdot and Cab Sauv. This deep colored red is bursting with blackcherry and plum on the nose, while the Syrah helps to balance off the wine with hints of spice on the tongue. The Petite Verdot and Cab Sauv give Mischief some structure by providing a nice long finish on your inner cheeks. Wow! Now that's a lot going on in one wine. So drink up and enjoy!
