Well, that about does it. We're pretty much done here.
Sure, you may see the "OPEN" sign lit every now and then over the next couple of weeks. If you do, please stop by to say hello while I clean out the place. And I'll be happy to sell you some of what remains (which, admittedly, ain't much).
It was great to see many of you over the last couple of weeks and thanks for your kind words.
I want to again thank every single customer that ever shopped here over the last 8-plus years. I love you all. (Yes, even you.)
And I especially want to raise a toast to everyone that ever put in a shift behind the counter or stocked a shelf here. I've been immensely lucky to have nothing but top-notch employees over the years. I consider many of you to be lifelong friends now and I can't thank you enough for spending some of your time with me.

PLENTY OF FRESH BEER REMAINING! Thanks for coming out in big numbers for the first few days. We'll keep going until we're sold out. Please consider bringing reusable grocery bags when you visit. We're very low on bags and boxes.

People have been asking...why? Here's more on that than you likely want to know.

Here’s the short answer:
• Since the pandemic, fewer people are drinking alcohol
• Those who do drink alcohol are drinking less beer than ever
• Those who do drink beer are increasingly not drinking craft beer
• Those who are still drinking craft beer often buy it at a grocery store or a giant liquor warehouse

That leaves us trying to sell to a pretty small niche of beer drinkers, and there aren’t enough to keep us going, especially in our little town. (“Where’s Norfolk?” they always ask.) Specializing in craft beer has always been our passion, but it’s no longer a viable business model. While there ARE ways we could go forward, it would require an investment of money and effort that I’m just not able to make.
