This week, we’re showcasing some beauties from South Africa, brought to NWC by Pascal Schildt Selections. Did you know that September marks the beginning of Spring in South Africa? So while we’re getting ready to hunker down up here in the Northern Hemisphere, down South they are waking up to fresh blooms and signs of new life!
Lucky for us at NWC, September seems to be that sweet spot where any bottle goes. We love to sip Rosés on those balmy afternoons, Whites during holdout beach days, and Reds in backyard, by the fire, on cooler evenings.
Today, we’re opening Botanica’s Big Flower Rosé of Petit Verdot to kick off our tastings/celebrate the final blooms of fall! Stop by Aquidneck Community Table Grower’s Market today to grab some bouquets from one of the many amazing flower booths and then head on over to the Wine Cellar to taste notes of plush berries, green florals, and subtle spice!
Friday/Saturday we’ll be pouring Fram’s Chardonnay and Shiraz… two bottles from the Swartland region that are both wild yet masterfully restrained.
