The short version: this is one of the most chased bottles in bourbon every single year. It's part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, which drops once a fall and causes a genuine frenzy at liquor stores. The 2023 came in at 135 proof (67.5% ABV), which is absolutely no joke, this whiskey will let you know it's there.
On the nose you get cinnamon, cherry cola, some dark honey and molasses. The palate is rich, dark chocolate, leather, vanilla, a little raisin, and the finish is long, chewy, and smoky with some rye spice kicking at the end. At 135 proof the heat is real, but it's surprisingly integrated for something this strong.
