(Earlier this evening a customer was offended by our employee drawing a smiley face on his home made mask. We would like to publicly apologize for anyone’s offense)
Andrea (and anyone else that may have been offended), this is the owner from Rt 30 liquors. I wanted to personally reach out and apologize that my employee did not think through his actions today. We do take very seriously the Covid-19 worry as my husband has already lost two older family member’s to the virus. We have taken as many steps possible to try to keep our customers and staff healthy during this stressful time. Sanitizing of hard surfaces, doors and cooler doors are being done every 30 mins with constant hand sanitizing done after each transaction, and a hand sanitizer station to be delivered soon for the entrance. It is important to us for everyone’s safety. We do not think it is a laughing matter or a matter to make fun of at all! I personally have my best friend as a ICU nurse at The University of Chicago and my cousin on a designated Covid floor at Loyola. We respect and honor all of you for being on the front lines of this and walking in day after day selflessly serving others. We have prayed for you guys daily and will continue to be blown away that you guys are working tirelessly in the heart of the battle to help others. We can’t express how much we are sorry that the actions by our employee offended anyone at this time, especially our first responders. He understands what he meant to put a smile on the faces of people has offended and hurt someone and he will reach out to give a personal apology. If you would like anything further please feel free to reach out. The division already seen on the FB post is already saddening because unity is imperative at this time. We plan on supporting this community In any way we can and taking as many steps as possible for safety.
