The bees were out this morning while I was out feeding! I could hear them before I could see them. The asters were buzzing! It’s been almost 13 years and the bees still fascinate me. I still follow them around to see what they are eating?🥰🐝

Wrangling them dang goats to put them with their bucks was not fun, but it’s done now. It would’ve been easier if Inwasnt trying to keep them out of my precious field. It has been a rough and tiresome day!🤦🏽‍♂️

I love it when a plan comes together and a dream comes true! I’m super proud about how this field turned out! It’s super lush this year. I planted it for the bees, the goats, and the humans. Got grasses, greens, and blooms! The rain, the birds, bees, and goats helped for sure!🥰

Quit some things, put some things on hold, and see some things through to success. Once you achieve success, take some things off hold and reevaluate the rest, then repeat!

Mission accomplished! Got some buckwheat blossoms before the first frost!🐝🐝

This rain is everything a guy could want. This is the second time that I’ve done a fall planting. This year looks much better than last year thanks to my fertilizers/ seed stompers! Gots some buckwheat, seven top, purple top(turnip), radish, and r**e. Hopefully we will get a decent yield!

Put my field fertilizers as seed stompers out in the field, hopefully we get a little more rain tonight! Now I just gott...

Sigh…I know that a lot of you are waiting on a honey harvest, but sadly we did not get one this year. I knew that moving to our little mini-farm would be challenging, and it has been. We lost 6 hives last year. We believe it was due to pesticides sprayed around the house before we got here. This year I told them not to spray around the house and that seems to have helped. This year we lost 1 due to queen tearing issues. The drought out here was pretty brutal too. That being said all that made it are looking good. It takes a while to adjust to a new micro climate sometimes, so we just have to be patient. I just wanted to let you all know where we are, and that we are keeping our commitment to stay sugar free and chemical free, so when we do harvest it will be the closest thing to walking up to the hive yourselves!🥰

We are also working on some products development, so be looking for that announcement.

Thanks!

It’s that time of year. Goldenrod is out in full bloom. Yes it’s a w**d, but it’s a very important w**d. The bees need this nutrient filled plant during the fall to build up winter stores. This w**d is very hardy and grows almost everywhere in Tennessee. If you want to feed the bees just leave the w**ds. That’s the laziest, most cost effective and efficient way to feed the bees and other pollinators!

-Side Note: Goldenrod is edible and particularly useful for humans as well!
