They are the true trailblazers who unlocked the elegant potential of North American Merlot—crafting velvety, seductive, and beautifully complex wines that changed the industry.

​We are absolutely thrilled to feature a true time capsule for our Wine of the Week: the 1999 Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino.

​This isn’t just an older vintage; it is a pristine library release that has been perfectly cellared directly at the estate in Tuscany before making its way to our shelves. Provenance is everything when it comes to collecting and drinking aged wine, and it simply doesn't get better than a direct-from-the-winery release.

​At over two decades old, this Brunello is showing spectacular evolution in the glass. Expect a highly complex bouquet of dried cherries, sweet to***co leaf, worn leather, and crushed earth. The tannins have completely resolved into a seamless, elegant finish—a beautiful example of what world-class Montalcino terroir can achieve with time and patience.

​Founded by the Knights Templar in 1204, Peyrassol has been a sanctuary of hospitality for over eight centuries. Nestled in the foothills of the Massif des Maures, just ten miles from the Mediterranean, their vineyards thrive on dry, rocky clay and limestone soils.
