What a great day at King George Speedway for the first race of the 2021-2022 Winter Series! As always a great job by Cory Hanson, Jessica Houck and staff for putting on a great event! I want to first thank Justin Coomer of No Mercy Motorsports for the rocket TO LTO! I was able to put it in Victory Lane. Not too often I get behind the wheel so it is extremely nice to roll into Victory Lane when I do so. Granted due to a few engine failures of two racers and one of my own, I got it done. Now, it was not pretty due to lack of conditioning on my part, which absolutely everyone had no issues letting me know. LOL! A special shout out to Elliott Burton for all the hard work he puts into the karts week to week and never complains. Never could do it without you! Well, all the hard work finally paid off. You busted your a$$ and drove straight into Victory Lane too!! I could not be more proud of you! I felt the same as the first time I won my first race! So, thanks for keeping me young! LOL! If all I ever had to do was give a kart to any kid and he/she could put it into Victory Lane, racing would be too easy. Braydon Humphrey, not a lot I can say about this young man. He just has the knack for racing, he is a natural to say the least. I honestly think he, his dad and grand dad, Mike Barnes III and Mike Barnes Sr, could put a shopping kart into Victory Lane! Congrats on both the Feature and Pro races!! With the good there is always the not so good. The B Day man, Shane Johnson had to leave the race with engine issues. Not a good way to end your special day. We will get it straight and you will be there for week 2. Chris Lemmons, it is extremely hard to drive a kart that beats you death. We will get it right hopefully for week 2 of the series. Last and most definitely not least a special shout out to the one that keeps everything oiled and together and keeps me on my toes, Stacie Wade, Not only does she keep WKPS running she provides King George Speedway with the best damn food at any track!! Which I honestly do not think anyone would deny that has had her delicious food!!
