Plasencia’s newest, Alma del Cielo, has landed at CdM Mooresville! The name translates to “soul of the sky”, and the cigar is a Nicaraguan puro that uses filler tobaccos grown on the Plasencia family’s Finca San Julián farm. That farm, located 3,500ft above sea level in the mountains of Nicaragua, produces very unique, high-altitude tobaccos that present flavor attributes different from what you’d normally expect to find. The soil is very nutrient-dense, the air is thinner and cooler at night, and the lack of shade normally found in the valleys during the day means each and every leaf receives maximum sunlight. The result is a flavor profile quite unlike any other; medium-plus in body and strength, light and airy, spicy, floral and aromatic, with a subtle, slightly tannic sweetness that really entices the senses.
