Know what I LOVE!? 4 generations of family visiting the counter for lunch 😍!! I also love all my Wrendale stuffies visiting Pooh and Piglet 🤣 in the 100 Acre Wood. (It’s a contest Wrendale is putting on. Speaking of contest, where are your pet with butterfly wings photos? I’m waiting…) These stuffies are SO unique and soft and adorable- perfect for a special snuggler. (The 4 generations has got me thinking grandbabies… someday!!! Inevitable I’d say with 5 daughters of our own. I won’t have to leave the shop to gift them alllll the best things!!) Have a baby shower coming up? We gotchu! Also, I’m pricing a thousand million new gift items at the moment. I’ll feature some next week. Hold on, I need to go tell Roy to build me an addition. 🤣🤣

Some things to share tonight:
1. Ira's Chili in the kettle this weekend!
2. Did you know Tues-Fri each week 8-11 am Marty does a fancy omelette bar-made to your specifications with our hyper-local eggs from the happiest of chickens?
3. You twisted my arm. People have been requesting steak and cheese subs for years. I caved. We've got 'em, and they're yum!
4. I'm going to need more pets for our 'pet with butterfly wings' contest!! Look at that sweetie! 🐶😍 Bring yours!! 📸 PM me!!
5. Tomorrow is the 250th celebration 🇺🇸at the New Hampshire Farm Museum! I am so bummed to miss it (catch me at Ira’s), but I highly recommend attending! Bucky’s, the Historical Society, and many more will be representing! A great community event!

I am, frankly, overwhelmed with the support you all have shown after last week’s post! We’ve had multiple 5⭐️ reviews 😍and sold MANY 1⭐️ sandwiches! 😋Our hearts are as warm as this weather 🔥with gratitude!

Now let’s have a contest!!!! I had a customer post a photo of her dog with our butterfly wings the other day, and I thought... wouldn’t it be fun to have a “Pet with Butterfly Wings in Ira’s Serenity Garden” photo contest! (This could definitely have a catchier title... it’s just not in me atm🤣) Only caveat- you have to do it in person! It’s ok to edit (like, I erased Eilidh from Pickle’s picture 🤣) but you need to bring your pet, any pet, in person, enjoy the beautiful garden, and let us enjoy your pet. Winner will be announced Labor Day Weekend! I’ll throw a gift certificate in with your bragging rights!! Let’s go!📸🐶🐱🐔🐴🐪 Private message me your pics!

You guyyyyss... we got a 1 star review last Friday...because one of my employees made a mistake!!😭😭😩😩 ... which they immediately reached out and TRIED to fix.

A week on... I’ve regrouped 🤣. We are human. We run out of things, make mistakes, have an off day...some of which is not in our power (e.g. the GREAT ICE DROUGHT- finally restocked, Arizona and Peace tea nowhere to be found, either having way too much or no milk on the daily... the struggle is real)...and we SO appreciate our gracious customer base. This one took the wind out of our sails for a minute because most of our reviews are a balm to our souls! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I immediately share them with my ‘Ira Tribe’
group text. We’re always like ‘GO, TEAM!’

So, the mistake was on a patty melt, a new addition to our menu. She missed...the burger. Whoopsies! 😳 BUT, after some pause I remembered we have a regular (from our town office!!) who crafted her own sandwich and gets it every single time: Grilled cheese with roasted garlic onion jam and caramelized onions on sour dough. She swears it is the most delicious sandwich. Guess what... that’s EXACTLY a patty melt without the burger (!!!). SOOOO, this week, I’ve put it on special and called it ‘The One Star’ 🤣.

To the person who shamed us and still got a yummy sandwich, was offered a remake within minutes of your departure, and didn’t respond...you’re a little bit mean, but we will strive to do better, always!!

Well, that was a crazy week! The main road into town was closed, and we became a ghost town for a few days! (Plus the wild fires and the crazy wind and rain!?!) It was lonely, and I’m thankful the road is fixed!

Huge shout out to Andrea at Speakeasy Gardens for our NEWLY beautified serenity garden. Things got a little crazy at Ira’s over the years, and we couldn’t keep up with it so she swooped in and SAVED the day!! Come get your butterfly wing pictures now that it’s so beautiful!! Sit and rest for awhile with the bumblebees and an ice cold bottle of Coke. (Andrea also did my own gardens so I have to share pics so you can appreciate her vision and passion! 😍)

I hope to see you all tomorrow! We’ve got Bougie BLTs with hot honey salmon (fans will not allow us to take it off the special board), Grilled Tuna and cheese on Wheatberry, acai bowls, and… have you tried our pancakes with real NH maple syrup yet? Oh, I’m getting hungry… 🤣 And I have a couple ideas I’m going to put through the test kitchen tomorrow. I’m thinking breaded eggplant, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and our homemade pesto? 😋And I’m going to take another stab at breakfast pizza. I haven’t been happy enough with our trials yet. 🤔

250 years of INDEPENDENCE!!! We’re celebrating in style as usual in the Mills! Our sweet parade will be at 10
am on the 4th. ALL welcome to be a part as participant or viewer. Ira’s will be open from 9-12 ish, then we’re heading to the LAKE. Fresh coffee will be on, and we shall fill the warmer with breakfast sandwiches and happily make you whatever you want! We’re prepping prizes for the 5 categories listed!

Also the extremely talented Studio Aska just brought by a basket of some very festive items for purchase that, hmmm…, just could win you best costume! So check it out tomorrow!!! 😍We will be judging from the porch, and dear Betsy will announce winners at the library afterward... then come on over to Ira’s and grab your prize! Happy Fourth, everyone!!
