I just wanted to take a minute to give a special thanks to our customers here at FF Vapors for your support during these last nerve racking 3 weeks. You have supported us through the FDA drama and now this. I posted below the outcome and update. It has truly been a joy working with you for the last 12 years. We look forward to many years to come. You really stepped up for us. It means more than you will ever know. Shout out to TSFA for coming to bat as well for the industry as a whole. The government didn’t win again.
Legislative Update:
‼️Open System Vapes Saved Today!
Over the last 3 weeks the TSFA, Brady from (Fifty Bar), and TSFA Shop Owners and Board Members were finally able to get through to lawmakers on the problems with HB968/SB763 and how this would eliminate not just the v**e businesses in TN but also would eliminate all va**ng products from shelves and essentially would allow Big To***co to take over the va**ng industry. We were able to work with lawmakers and amend the bill that would still prohibit illicit Chinese disposables but would allow open system va**ng products to remain on the market. Open system va**ng products, which many of us have been relying on for years to stay off of ci******es, are the backbone of the va**ng industry and are used with liquids manufactured right here in the United States by US Owned businesses. These products have helped millions quit smoking in the United States and over 700k in TN alone. We are thankful to Rep. Zachary for working on the amendment along with the other representatives that heard our pleas. But truth is we couldn't have done any of this without all of you. We heard repeatedly how the representatives and senators were receiving a ton of phone calls and emails from concerned citizens about how this would affect them personally. THANK YOU EVERYONE for everything you did to help win this fight and save va**ng in TN. We couldn't have done this without you. Today the bill with the amendment passed the Senate and this is the final step before hitting Gov. Lee's desk. (HB968 passed Monday in the House). This bill will still remove all disposables except for Fifty Bar products from the market starting January 1, 2027. Will Increase fines for selling to underage individuals. Will Increase enforcement from ABC. Added a 10% wholesale tax to va**ng products starting August 1, 2025. The work will continue throughout the rule-making process as implementation of the new laws will occur quickly. These requirements will be followed and we can work under these rules as long as we still have these products on the market to keep doing what we have done since 2013 - which is helping people transition from smoking ci******es to va**ng products ultimately reducing their harms from smoking. And lastly please if you are going to purchase va**ng products please do so at a shop that has fought for you and is still fighting. Stop by TSFA shops and shops that take advocacy seriously. Without these shops fighting these bills, va**ng would have been eliminated in TN this year. You would be amazed at how many shops we contacted for help that refused to do so which includes most of these new shops that have popped up over the last year.
