Some w**es whisper. This one perfumes the whole room. 🌹

Albert Boxler is one of Alsace’s most sought-after names: a small family domaine in Niedermorschwihr, with bottles that rarely stay on shelves long. The 2022 Gewurztraminer Réserve is all lychee, rose and ginger spice, with a texture that makes you slow down and pour another glass.

Pair it with Thai curry, spicy ceviche, aged Munster… or just a Miami sunset.

Two pheasants. Two very different birds.

Left: Sito Moresco 2022 — Gaja's Langhe blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera, anchored in the Pajorè vineyard in Treiso that Angelo Gaja bought in 1979 from Giovannini Moresco. The name is a nod to the man who farmed it first. Six to eight months in oak, and it drinks beautifully tonight — violet, blackberry, sweet licorice, and just enough grip to remind you whose cellar it came from.

Right: Dagromis 2022 — 100% Nebbiolo, Barolo DOP, drawn from La Morra and Serralunga d'Alba. Named for the Gromis family, who held the land before Gaja did. Each lot ages a year in oak before blending, then another 18 months after. La Morra brings the perfume and the silk. Serralunga brings the spine.

The pheasants on the label? Real ones. They live in the woods bordering the Gaja vineyards.

One is the Tuesday night. One is the Saturday you plan around. We'd take both.

Here's the thing about Philipponnat that most people don't clock: this is the house behind Clos des Goisses — Ch*****ne's first great single-vineyard w**e, made since the 1930s. So when Charles Philipponnat builds a Blanc de Noirs, he's drawing on the same Pinot Noir mastery and the same Montagne de Reims and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ holdings that feed the grand cuvée.
100% Pinot Noir. First-press juice only, Premier and Grand Cru. Five to six years on the lees. Extra-Brut dosage, so nothing's hiding behind sugar — just fruit, structure and that signature freshness.
This isn't a flute-at-midnight bubble. It's wild berry, spice and brioche depth with a dry, mineral spine — Ch*****ne built for the table. Pour it next to roast bird, terrines or foie gras and watch it go to work.
