From day one, 20 Deep has been all about family, friends, and our incredible community here in Upstate New York. Now, as we replant our beloved Gamay vines at our small-batch winery, we can’t help but reflect on how it all began.

Those early days were fueled by heart, hustle, and the support of our amazing community. We’re proud to be part of the Finger Lakes wine region, and we wouldn’t be here without the people who’ve been with us since the beginning.

That’s not to say it’s always been easy. Back in 2023, a late frost during the PGA at Oak Hill in Rochester wiped out 80% of our crop. Ever since, we’ve held our breath each spring, hoping Memorial Day would bring relief.

Now that it’s here, it finally feels like we can breathe again. The vines are in, the sun is shining, and we’re stepping into our favorite time of year at the vineyard. Here’s to a new season and the roots we keep putting down—right here in the heart of Rochester’s wine country. 🍷🌱

The Instinct Collection is our brand new lineup that captures the heart of our winemaking philosophy, trusting our instincts and letting the grapes lead! Here’s a peek at what’s in each bottle and the story behind each name ⬇️

Decisions Were Made is a semi-sweet white blend of Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, and Gewürztraminer—balanced, aromatic, and a little unexpected, named after our decision to trust our instincts.

Plot Twist, our dry Grüner Veltliner, is dry, smooth, and zippy with a clean, thirst-quenching finish. It’s a refreshing detour from the usual, which makes the name Plot Twist the perfect fit.

Inside Out, a medium-light bodied Gamay Noir, was crafted using whole-cluster fermentation for smooth texture and expressive aromatics. It’s truly fermented from the Inside Out!

Each bottle tells a story. Come taste what happens when Instinct leads the way 🍷

Some of our favorite events are coming up at the winery! 🍷

1️⃣ Comedy Night is back on June 12! Get ready for big laughs and even better wine. Featuring Rachel Daze, Dario Joseph, and headliner Freddy G!

2️⃣ Our Father’s Day BBQ on June 15 is the perfect way to treat Dad with smoked meats, cold drinks, and live tunes. Plus, enjoy $8 mimosas, $5 drafts, and a beer list built for Dad.

3️⃣ Finally, Cousins Maine Lobster rolls in on June 22, and trust us, these lobster rolls pair perfectly with a glass of our dry rosé.

Don’t forget, Friday Nights at 20 Deep are still the place to be. Every week we’ve got live music, rotating food trucks, and all your favorite wines on tap. It’s a great way to kick off your weekend with friends, family, and the 20 Deep crew.

They’re here! 🍷💗 Heartbeat (our fresh + vibrant rosé) and Good Company (medium-dry, semi-sweet Riesling) are officially available to the public starting today!

This one’s made for those long, laughter-filled evenings. Good Company is a semi-sweet Riesling with just the right balance—sweet enough to satisfy, but crisp enough to keep sipping.

Heartbeat is made entirely from estate-grown Gamay Noir, so this rosé was picked early in the season to preserve its acidity and aromatic freshness. Fermented and aged in stainless steel to showcase the fruit, the wine was bottled dry, with no residual sugar.

Our Wine Club fam got the first sip (and always saves 20% on bottles 👀), but now it’s your turn to stop in, taste, and take some home.

Come visit us in the tasting room and grab your new favorites—while they last!

They’re here! 🍷💗 Heartbeat (our fresh + vibrant rosé) and Inside Out (a bold, juicy red) are officially available to the public starting today!

For Inside Out, we kept the berries whole for two weeks before crushing them, letting fermentation start from the inside out. This wine making technique brings out a fruitier, more playful style in the wine.

Heartbeat is made entirely from estate-grown Gamay Noir, so this rosé was picked early in the season to preserve its acidity and aromatic freshness. Fermented and aged in stainless steel to showcase the fruit, the wine was bottled dry, with no residual sugar.

20 Deep Winery unveiled

When we purchased the land in Spring 2018, we were calling ourselves Capfall Wine Cellars. But it didn’t feel right. So we decided to re-brand to 20 Deep Winery. As a name, it speaks to our commitment to our community and place, as grapevine roots typically grow 20 feet into the ground. You could say we’re not going anywhere. There’s also a lot of other meaning to the number 20 that felt really right for us, but let’s save that for another time.
